I was pleasantly surprised by our trip to the Bard Museum. I loved the way it was set up, especially the rooms that the short films were played in. Seeing the silver balloons upon entering the red carpeted rooms reminded me of an Anish Kapoor piece. A complaint I share with others is the fact that the artist and title of the works was hard to find and annoying to look at the diagram to figure out which piece I wanted to know more about. A work I found to be interesting was Alex Hubbard’s The Collapse of the Expanded Field. It was almost like a video collage. He took everyday items like flowers and balloons and manipulated them in a way to change their everyday use. Hubbard allows us to watch the process of creating by being very destructive and chaotic at the same time. I wanted to keep watching the video not only because it was very unpredictable but because it was neat to see how the confetti and other random items reacted with eachother. The piece I responded most negatively to was Mitzi Pederson’s wood plank with silver leaf on the sides. It seemed very out of place and almost hidden. It was as if she stopped off at Home Depot, picked up this piece of wood and hung it on the wall while throwing in a few staples for good measure. I teach younger grade levels so I thought Tony Feher’s water bottles with the colored food dye inside of them would be a great project to tie into a stained glass project. Normally I do a lesson with stained glass paper or cellophane but using liquid might be an exciting, new material for the students to use.

Thanks! I forgot to get one of those weight things that go on the bottom so you don't loose all the balloons so I had a vice grip on those ribbons lol.
I would work for Pixar in a heartbeat! I could watch 'Finding Nemo' everyday.

Rods are insects. The Moscow clip is old, as are a few others here. The Anaheim blue light is a kid’s remote controlled glider with lights affixed. As for New York, given the coincident evacuation of an FAA radar control facility, and the evening news reporter’s zoomed in footage on the light, there seems to be more to the story than yellow and silver balloons. Too bad this doesn’t include the El Paso footage. The Amsterdam triangle formation lines up to the El Paso footage, as well as the Manhattan footage (if you rotate it). Hadn’t seen that triangle football game footage before Given crowd’s chant of “U-S-A”, likely some planned overflight formation. I would expect the crowd to stop chanting or otherwise react if something that obvious flew overhead in surprise fashion. Also hadn’t seen the Australia blue light morphing thing before. That is some convincing footage, though I’d like to send the videographer to a training class. I still can’t tell if there really is something hatching. The New York story really caught my attention, not because of the footage, but because so many people were so enthusiastic that what they saw were lights, and that what they saw was extraordinary. Given another one or two sightings of glowing lights in similar triangle formation, or something even more impressive, and I expect we may actually be on the eve of something major.
