Loves Balloons Pink
Did I miss something?
I am co-planning a baby shower for my sister-in-law with my mother-in-law. Really, my MIL is planning the shower, but I'm her little gopher, but I love stuff like this, so its ok.
I feel like the room isn't going to be very festive. We have the following:
Tables
3 balloons (pink & chocolate brown) per table
centerpieces on table...glass bowls with chocolate brown candle & baby pink rose petals
favors, wrapped little baskets of chocolate, with pink ribbon
Wishing Well
I just took a basket and decorated it tastefully with chocolate brown & pink ribbon (do I need to make a sign or anythign that says "wishing well"?
That's all we have. I don't want to buy regular party signs, and I really don't care how much $$ we spend, at this point, it doesn't matter. Do you have any suggestions on how to tastefully decorate the restaurant room where the shower is?
(Please also answer my next question on games)
Oh I love planning showers too! It is so easy to go overboard with the decorations and food, well at least I do...lol. I think what you described is going to look wonderful! I like the pink and chocolate brown together. Don't forget to get your SIL a corsage to wear on her big day. I would put a sign on the wishing well, maybe even type up a little flyer explaining the point of the wishing well so people will know what to do there. (some people have never heard of it)
If you don't mind I will just answer the games question here too: we always do a game where the guests guess how big the Mom's belly is. The Mom stands in the middle and you go around with a roll of ribbon, each guests cuts off a piece of ribbon they think will fit around the Mom's belly, whoever is the closet wins. Baby Bingo is fun, we play that too. We also played a game where there is a big basket filled with all kinds of little goodies for the Mom and baby (like bibs, bottles, pacifiers, washclothes..etc) and each person gets to look at the basket for like 1 minute, then they have to write as many items as they can remember. Whoever gets the most, wins. of course at the showers we do the guest of honor gets to keep all prizes. For prizes we have done little things, like diapers, toys for the baby...etc. But you know what might be a great idea. If your SIL likes to be pampered, you could get her a certificate to get a pedicure or a manicure and give her that for the prize to all the games you play, even a massage, before or after the baby is born. Remember to include a certificate saying you will keep the baby while she gets pampered. Good Luck and have fun! Oh and Congratulations on becoming an Aunt! Its wonderful!
Oh and you might could find some flower arrangements to sit around the room to help with the decorations. Have you ever seen a diaper cake? You make a cake shape tower out of diapers, washclothes...etc. Look at the pic below.... of course, they are too expensive on this iste but you can make one a lot cheaper. Florist sometimes have them too for a reasonable price.
