what did Charles Darwin do that made him so great?
For example if several famous people were in a hot air balloon and it was falling out the sky because it was too heavy and someone had to jump. Then all of them had to explain why they should be saved, why should Darwin be the one who is saved?
Darwin propounded the theory of evolution, which revolutionized biological science. The theory has been a cornerstone of biology for a hundred years, and is now a proven fact. This makes it something of a rarity among scientific theories, most of which (for technical reasons) cannot be proven.
